OBS overlay help

Quick fixes for stream overlays and the 300px control dock.

Overlay is blank or black

Use the copied overlay URL (with overlay=1). In the Browser Source, enable transparency if your OBS version exposes it. For older OBS, add &bg=#00FF00 and key out green. Leave “Shutdown source when not visible” off so the WebSocket/BroadcastChannel session survives scene changes.

Dock says “not connected”

The dock and overlay must share the same session query param and run inside the same OBS profile (Custom Browser Dock + Browser Source). Tap the red dot in the dock to return here. Re-copy both links from Stream mode if you changed boards.

Result overlaps webcam or alerts

Change Result position in Stream mode (lowercenter, topcenter, leftthird, rightthird) and re-copy the overlay link.

Result text too small

Size the Browser Source to 1920×1080 when possible. Pick names scale with height (64px+ at 1080p). Use scale= sparingly for fine tuning.

Changing boards mid-stream

Copy a fresh overlay link after edits, or update picks from the dock. Preset changes apply on the next drop.

How the result is picked

The disc follows the same physics board as the app — pegs, rails, and buckets from your Designer config. The landing bin selects the label; no separate random roll is applied after the fact.

Reset

Reset clears the in-flight disc and result card. The dock asks for confirmation before reset; Drop does not.

Dock Settings

Open Settings under the dock’s main controls to customise the overlay live — no need to re-copy links. Changes apply immediately (board changes wait until the current disc lands), are saved per session in this OBS profile, and are restored when the overlay reloads or reconnects. URL parameters are only the starting defaults; dock settings override them. Reset settings clears the saved values and goes back to the link’s defaults.

Finish lane (Race / Survivor, on by default): a lane above Finish where each pick’s numbered token races to the checkered flag, with lap ticks and a “<PICK> TAKES THE LEAD!” banner on lead changes. It follows Big text; turn it off in Settings or with lane=0.
